March Hare Pin
This adorable hare pin depicts a solitary, mischievous hare.
Hares feature in folklore across the globe, and are seen as a symbol of good fortune. Eileen captures the character of the solitary hare perfectly; its simple form conveying the elegant body of the majestic creature. The striking features and long ears makes this piece incredibly tactile. The piece has a unique frosty satin finish which echoes the cold wintry landscapes that influence Eileen’s work.
This lapel pin would make the perfect gift for any hare lover, or as a good luck charm! This gorgeous pin looks great when worn on any lapel, scarf or collar. It also looks great on a tie, creating a wonderful conversation piece. When worn, the fastening is completely hidden. Suitable for men or women alike, it is sure to compliment any outfit.
The piece is made from solid sterling silver. It has a traditional clip fastening which fits securely on the reverse. All Eileen’s work is handmade in Scotland in her own workshop. In accordance with hallmarking regulations, and where applicable by weight, Eileen’s pieces are hallmarked in Edinburgh, and feature the Assay Office’s iconic Edinburgh Castle stamp.
The pin is very easy to maintain. Oxidized finishes do not need cleaning and they will fade slightly over time. The plain silver option is also easy to maintain. Eileen suggests using silver dip which can be purchased at most high street jewellers. Gently clean the surface using a soft tooth brush. Pieces should then be rinsed thoroughly with warm soapy water and dried using a soft paper towel.
