March Hare Miniature
This adorable hare figurine depicts a solitary, mischievous hare.
Hares feature in folklore across the globe, and are seen as a symbol of good fortune. Eileen captures the character of the solitary hare perfectly; its simple form conveying the elegant body of the majestic creature. The striking features and long ears makes this piece incredibly tactile.
The piece has a unique frosty satin finish which echoes the cold wintry landscapes that influence Eileen’s work. This miniature would make the perfect gift for any hare lover, or as a good luck charm!
The ‘Mad March Hare’ Miniature looks stunning displayed on it’s own, and make perfect collectables that can be mixed and matched with other figurines such as the ‘Moon gazing Hare’ Miniature, or the ‘Selkie’ Miniature.
Each hare is made from solid sterling silver which gives it a lovely weight, reflecting the quality of the piece. All Eileen’s work is handmade in Scotland in her own workshop. In accordance with hallmarking regulations, and where applicable by weight, Eileen’s pieces are hallmarked in Edinburgh, and feature the Assay Office’s iconic Edinburgh Castle stamp.
Oxidized finishes do not need cleaning and they will fade slightly over time. The plain silver option is also easy to maintain. Eileen suggests using silver dip which can be purchased at most high street jewellers. Gently clean the surface using a soft tooth brush. Pieces should then be rinsed thoroughly with warm soapy water and dried using a soft paper towel.
